Who we are
Import American Cars is a website run by My Car Import, Trent Lane, Castle Donington, Derby, DE74 2PY. My Car Import is responsible for any personal information you give us through this site. Our full privacy policy is on the My Car Import website, and it applies here too.
What we collect
This site does not collect your personal details. It has no forms of its own. When you press “Get a quote” you go to the quote form on My Car Import’s website, mycarimport.co.uk, and what you enter there is handled under their privacy policy. That covers your name, email address and phone number, the details of the vehicle, and where it is.
If you ring or email us, we use what you tell us to answer you and to prepare your quote. We do not sell your details, and we only share them where it is needed to do the job, such as the transport and shipping partners who move your vehicle, HMRC and the DVLA.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking tools on it, and nothing is loaded from other websites: our fonts, images and code all come from this site. That is why you are not asked to accept cookies.
The one thing your browser keeps
If you arrive from one of our adverts, the web address can carry an advert reference:
gclid, utm_cpid or utm_keyword. When it does, a few
lines of code save those references in your browser’s session storage under the
name iac_attr. If you then go on to request a quote, they are added to the
address of the My Car Import quote form, so we know which advert brought you.
It holds only those advert references, never your name or contact details. It lasts for the current browser tab only, and your browser deletes it when you close that tab. If you did not arrive from an advert, nothing is stored at all.

Links to other websites
Links to other sites, such as Trustpilot, Google Maps, LinkedIn, Instagram and My Car Import, load nothing until you click them. Once you are on their site, their own privacy and cookie rules apply.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will help.
