A My Car Import service
Import American Cars is how My Car Import looks after one route properly. Behind it is the same team, yard and IVA lane that have brought more than 20,000 vehicles to the UK.
Why a site just for America?
Because American imports are their own thing. The cars are left-hand drive and built to US lighting rules, so the workshop list is different from a European or Japanese import. The paperwork starts with a state title and a set of US export filings before the car ever reaches a port. And the vehicles themselves, from full-size pickups to classic muscle cars, are ones the UK never had in any number.
On a site that covers every country, that detail gets lost. Here it is the whole point. Every page is about getting a vehicle from the USA onto UK plates, and every quote goes to people who do exactly that.
We collect anywhere in the United States, ship from the east or west coast, and only take on clean-title vehicles. Collection to UK registration typically takes 8 to 16 weeks, and we tell you where the car is at each stage.

Under one roof
Everything that matters, in-house
Most import problems start at the handovers: a container left at a port, a customs agent who has never seen the car, a test booked weeks away somewhere else. So we keep the important parts of the job under our own roof.

Our own customs desk
We are authorised HMRC CDS entry agents with customs staff in-house, so the import entry and the NOVA are done here.

Our own unloading
Containers come back to our site and are unloaded by our team, not rushed out at a port warehouse.

Our own workshop
Headlights, rear fog lamp, side repeaters and whatever else the test needs, done by our technicians rather than subcontracted.

Our own IVA lane
The first privately owned IVA testing centre for passenger vehicles in the UK, so the timetable is ours, not a queue for a DVSA slot.

A dealer-level DVLA account for registering the vehicles we bring in.

Storage and delivery
Indoor and outdoor storage, and our own open and enclosed transporters for delivery anywhere in the UK.

The work happens at My Car Import’s site on Trent Lane. Vehicles come here for unloading, conversion work, testing and registration, and you can collect from here or we can deliver.
